Lesa wrote her own degree in college, and called it “International Ministries with an Emphasis in Fine Arts”. She was hoping to teach the fine arts at a missionary school in Africa someday.
In 2008 she got to revive that dream when our school (not named here for security), a Christian mission school in Nairobi, asked her to take over for the retiring drama teacher. In 2009, as Sydney entered Kindergarten, Lesa started teaching full time.
Since then her ministry there has grown to cover teaching worship and discipleship, but her real ministry is in mentoring these students of missionary parents serving all across the continent, and helping them find their unique identity as TCK’s: third culture kids.
