Outer Banks – day 2

Jockeys RidgeToday we decided to give our skin a rest and not go back to the beach, tempting as it was (and knowing a tropical storm was on its way at the end of the week). Instead we went to Jockey’s Ridge State Park, the highest sand dunes in the east coast, I think. The heat was baking hot, and so was the sand, andCurrituck lighthouse we hiked around and flew our kite and tried to stay cool.

After lunch we drove up to the far north end of the outer banks, to Currituck lighthouse and milled around there for the afternoon.
